Reverend William Washington Browne a former slave from Georgia established the first black-owned bank in America. It was named “True Reformers Savings Bank”. The name was inspired by the Grand Fountain United Order of True Reformers which was a black fraternity organization founded by Browne in 1849. Finalized on March 2nd, 1888, the bank was part of a larger fraternal society in Richmond Virginia. They specialized in offering sick and burial insurance was one of the many services they provided and it became evident that it would be fruitful. Additionally, the bank provided services for individuals and funding for retail stores, hotels, and newspaper publications. All this provisioning for black communities made it the largest and most successful black-owned business in the United States at the time.
In the 1890s when an economic depression happened, specifically in 1893, banks began panicking. It was only Richmond that fully operated, honoring checks, paying out the full value of accounts, and paying school district salaries. Browne said quote, “It is said we had a dedicated Negro bank under the head of Freedman’s bank”, “We never had such a bank because all the owners and managers were white”.“The bank which we have is a black man’s bank, and all the officers are black”. “We started with love, Truth, Mercy, Wisdom, Brains, and Finance”. “These are our weapons”. The establishment flourished after William W. Browne’s death in 1897, expanding into newspaper publications, real estate, retirement homes, and loan association buildings. Moreover, new branches opened in Kansas by 1900 and it began operating in 24 states and owned property worth $223,500. By 1901 the bank hit its peak and amassed 1 million in deposits. All things considered, the prosperous doings of the bank didn’t have a long run. It met its demise due to mismanagement by new President William Lee Taylor. To be more specific, $50,000 was embezzled and the bank was unfortunately closed by the State Corporation Commission in 1910. Nevertheless, it’s still remembered as the first black-owned bank in the United States.
After the civil war, reconstruction, and what would subsequently become Jim Crow laws, slaves in the south were freed and lived as free Americans but still experienced disenfranchisement and some had difficulty prospering financially. However, I’ll be presenting in this episode the story of a young black girl named Sarah Rector from Taft Oklahoma who came upon a fortune that changed her life forever, but she had obstacles standing in her way.
Sarah Rector was born in 1902 in Taft Oklahoma and came from humble beginnings but she later became the wealthiest black girl in the country at the age of 11. Her family was African American members of the Muscogee Creek Nation in Indian Territory. Rector’s grandparents had been enslaved by Creek Tribe members, but once the Civil War ended, they were entitled to land allotments under the Dawes Allotment Act of 1887. Furthermore, when Indian territory integrated with Oklahoma territory to form the state of Oklahoma in 1907, hundreds of Black children who were referred to back then as “Creek Freedmen minors,” were granted 160 acres of land.
Rector’s allotment was located in the middle of the Glenn Pool oil field and was initially valued at $550. A few years later in 1911, her father decided to lease his daughter’s piece of land to a major oil company to help pay for the property taxes. And in 1913, everything would change.
According to Searching for Sarah Rector: The Richest Black Girl in America by Tonya Bolden, an independent driller struct oil that started to bring in 2,500 barrels or 105,000 gallons per day. As a result, Rector, still being an owner of the land, began earning more than $300 a day (which is equivalent to about 7,500 a day in our time).
It was inevitable with all the fortune she received that she would attract attention. Rector began getting national attention from newspapers all over the country. For instance, The Kansas City Star published the headline, “Million to a Negro Girl – Sarah Rector, 11-year-Old, Has Income of $300 A Day from Oil”. Additionally, another newspaper, The Savannah Tribune, published the headline, “Oil Well Produces Net Income – Negro Girl’s $112,000. You have to understand a black person making that much, especially at that young, would cause eyebrows to raise and white America wasted no time in relinquishing her fortune.
As mentioned, sadly Rector’s fortune would be interfered with by the law. There was a law at the time that required Native Americans and African Americans who were citizens of Indian Territory to be assigned a “well-respected” white guardian. As a result, Rector’s guardianship was turned over to a white man named T.J. Porter.
However, reportedly W.E.B Du Bois and the NAACP got involved to protect her well-being and fortunately were able to be successful with it. Rector, later on, to own one of the first Black-owned auto dealerships in the country, and reportedly enjoyed her wealth until she died!
Disclaimer: This blog post contains some sensitive material that some might not agree with. Reader discretion advised. It will consist of my commentary, a review of the documentary “The Red Pill”, and an analysis of “The Red Pill” community in general and the people who implement the mindset into their daily lives. The opinions I make about the topic are just that, my opinions. I will include statistics from the documentary to add validity to what I’m presenting. With that said, onto the post.
Before I start to talk about the documentary, I want to go over some lingo to you that I will include in this post. First, “the red pill a.k.a the crimson capsule. Maybe you’re aware of it or have heard of the red pill community that is under The Manosphere (that I will get to soon), but if you haven’t then allow me to enlighten you. In essence, The Red Pill is a metaphor borrowed from the film “The Matrix” which concerns the awakening of men to the true nature of female behavior and how the society they live in is fundamentally misandrist and dominated and favors feminist values. After reading that you might be thinking, “what the f**k, that’s a misogynistic and sexist mindset that degrades and devalues a woman’s worth”. To be honest, I don’t blame you for having that sentiment. However, as I mentioned in the beginning I’ll be commentating, analyzing, and reviewing, The Manosphere specifically The Red Pill, and The Men’s Rights Movement which is under The Manosphere. Speaking of The Manosphere, it is a collection of movements online consisting of websites, blogs, and online forums. They include; the Men’s Rights Movement, The Red Pill, Pick Up Artists (PUA), Men Going Their Own Way (MGTOW), The Father’s Rights Group, and Incels. In regards to that, from an outsiders perspective, these groups are perceived as displaying hostility towards women (some do I won’t deny that i.e. Incels), but demonizing the entire Manosphere, in my opinion is disingenuous for the ones that consistently teach unwavering masculinity. For example, the documentary which heavily focuses on The Men’s Right Movement is a group that focuses on general social issues and specific government services that usually neglect and adversely impact, and in some cases discriminate on a structural level against men and boys.
After watching members tell their stories, and their mission statement, I understand after watching the film their intentions is not to attack feminism (even though the latter does consistently to them) but to spotlight issues and bring coverage to things not mentioned that some men face in their relationships with women and the gender roles expectations. For example, in the case of domestic violence, it is usually statistically and agreed that the victim is usually always the woman. However, domestic violence shelters are state-funded and men at least pay half of the taxes that find and operate shelters nationwide, but the irony is that shelters disregard men as victims of domestic violence. Furthermore, in the U.S. there are over 2,000 domestic violence shelters. All of them serve female victims and nearly all of them disregard men victims. In fact, since 2016 there has been only one open all-male domestic violence shelters. Moreover, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will experience physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. This means 43% of these attacks are done to men. With these stats how can these shelters excuse themselves from not providing help to men? Would this not be considered gender discrimination? Equally important, 78% of suicides are done by men and if these services for help only served men wouldn’t there be a debate on how women are overlooked and not seen as equally afflicted? Feminist organizations would consider this gender discrimination quickly. To put it simply, the resources don’t match the need.
For the last 50 years, if you look at Feminism and to some extent Womanism, its scrutinized men, labeling them inherently violent, predatory, oppressive, and believing that masculinity is a disease hence why the phrase “toxic masculinity started. To that I say, be mad all you want, because at the end of the day the end product of a woman is a man. Don’t believe me look at families in the ‘50s and ‘60s in the U.S. and how stable and cooperative women were in helping to maintain successful families while following the lead of her husband, and this leads me to talk about patriarchy. Quite frankly, patriarchy is the result of gender roles and not vice versa. In other words, almost all religions and cultures practice patriarchy to establish and maintain a productive society (i.e. Kings, Presidents etc…) and feminism believes that these groups in the Manosphere especially The Men’s Rights Movement want to keep them subordinate. In actuality, just because men are hurting, and sometimes victims themselves doesn’t disregard the issues women are facing. On the topic of patriarchy, religions especially the monotheistic ones and foreign cultures, men don’t tolerate bad behavior with positive reinforcements. As harsh as that might sound I’ll use Islam which I’m familiar with since I grew up in a house with African (Somali) parents and grandparents raising me within the religion. Polygamy is acceptable in Islam and even if I have never personally met a Muslim man with multiple wives, high value Muslim men around the world have or have had multiple wives and you know what type of mindset they employ? These kinds of men fire fast and hire slow. What I mean by that is, she is working for his respect and would need to be looking up to him to lead and to form a harmonious relationship. In this situation the husband will let her know she is easily replaceable and if she does not cooperate in maintaining a successful marriage with him taking the lead at all times, then he’ll have to find it in his next or other wives. This conveys his value that she will follow, commit, and submit to. I’ve seen this personally with my maternal grandparents because even though I was young (age 4) when my grandfather died, I knew my grandmother had love and respect for him and she would speak about him years after his death to her grandchildren as if he was still there. She displayed reverence which I always admired. In regards to the situation I talked about a Muslim man who practices polygamy, to put it simply women get in line when they know you have other women in line. Usually women are the ones with options and when they feel that they is a clear disadvantage, I’m still using this situation, then they’ll do everything they can from being replaced with another woman that will provide him with things he expects from her that she didn’t provide him at first, i.e. Being fit, feminine, friendly, beautiful, inspirational, etc..
When it comes to The Manosphere, the red pill has gotten a bad reputation and it’s understandable when the negative comments and statements are easily seen and heard consistently, but in the grand scheme of things, there are victims and perpetrators on both sides of the fence. On the dark side of The Manosphere, the Incels have stigmatized some aspects of the red pill and their anger from a loveless life full of a lack of romantic relationships caused them to act violently towards their “enemies” only for them to cause their demise. Having said that, I will say this, what these individuals failed to realize is that women find reasons to disqualify men and men do everything to qualify for women. Don’t believe me? Ask any attractive female how many thirsty comments, direct messages and awkward interactions they’ve had with the opposite sex online and offline. These horny dudes would find creative and sometimes lame ways to seek approval and build a “connection” in order to hook up and date with these attractive females whose “currency” for attention is things such as likes, subscriptions and payments on sex work sites (Onlyfans) and more. With no success and frustration building for years, topped off with a possible psychological disorder will more than likely lead to a disastrous outcome. All in all, these types of people in the Manosphere is a sector of the bigger picture that needs to be analyzed with an objective stance in my opinion and if you were to not agree with me, that’s okay but just understand that all these groups within the Manosphere ever since its introduction to the world wide web will probably exist in some capacity for years to come and gain more momentum and make its way into mainstream media. There will be a backlash, but the awakening for men to some of the Manosphere groups is only to equip them with the knowledge they were hidden away from. Cassie Jaye the director of the film and I think she did a good job depicting the groups within the red pill especially The Men’s Rights Movement with an objective perspective, and she genuinely looked intrigued in learning about the dilemmas men in that movement have endured and The Red Pill in its totality.

“When your goals are clear, you will come up with exactly the right answer at exactly the right time”
The 80/20 rule is one of the most helpful concepts for life and time management. It’s essential in the fields of business and economics. The rule is also known as “The Pareto Principle” which states that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80% of your results.
The Pareto Principle was named after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto back in 1895, and the below will present the ways the rule is used and how to benefit from it.
“The Vital Few” aka the top 20 % in terms of money of influence
The Trivial Many” aka the bottom 80%
We can apply Pareto’s 80/20 rule and apply it to any situation. By understanding this essential principle you can prioritize your tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Two out of the ten items on a general person’s to-do list will turn out worth more than the other eight items combined. How might you ask? Well, a lot of people procrastinate on the top 10 – 20% of items that are imperative and valuable aka “the vital few” but busy themselves on the least important 80% (the trivial many) which contribute little to their success.
Before you begin working on anything you need to ask yourself “Is this task in the top 20% of my activities or the bottom 80%? You’ll have a better and successful return on investments by completing 1-2 tasks instead of a pile of busy activities that accomplish very little and are of little value. i.e. Managers will identify factors that are vital for their company’s success and they will give focus on those factors the most focus.
Resist the temptation to clear up small things.
The 3 Keys to living without limits
Clarity: Knowing who you are, what you want, and where you’re going with a set plan in mind to execute is needed for success. The more progress you make towards accomplishing things important to you will give you more energy and confidence so you can become relentless and not look back no matter what. With that said, having a clear vision and clarity with your desires will keep you aligned and focused on your daily goals. This is a habit of many successful people.
Competence in your key area: What I mean by competence here is that you will have to begin to become proficient in the areas of your chosen profession. Applying the 80/20 rule to everything you do will allow you to focus on 20 % of your tasks which are the most important and from there it will yield to 80% of your results.
Concentration: Concentration is having the self – discipline to force yourself to concentrate on a single task, which should be the important thing until completed.
In conclusion, the 80/20 (Pareto Principle) is a useful strategy to get things effectively and efficiently done without being fixated on working on things that will not produce the desired results. After all as I mentioned before in the introduction many business and economists use this in order for them to stay consistently successful.

What makes a high-value man? Is it his financial stability, how much money he makes, commitment to a successful relationship, appearance, success/accolades, charisma? The list of ways people determine a high-value man is long. So in this post, I want to explain and present two different perspectives in terms of what qualifies a man to be high-value and what high value men expect from the women they’re having relations with. Having said that, I want to state most of this post is informative, but I will sprinkle in my opinions. I consider myself an average joe who’s worked respectable positions from public relations, project management consultant, retail, salesman, and a few others. I’m always trying to better myself for success from my college days getting my bachelors in Marketing to receiving multiple certifications in Marketing and Business management, but even with all those books smarts, I wouldn’t consider myself a high-value man nor have claimed to be one to anyone no matter their status. You’re probably thinking what? You don’t consider yourself a high-value man? You must have some traits that deem you as one or you have a few things you do well that you can improve that can put you into the category of high value man. My answer to that is yes and no and in the second part of this post, I’ll go into detail on how I stack up to what is required to be a high-value man. With that said, I was inspired to write this post after following a YouTube personality that I’ve been following for a few years and I’ve learned from this professional and corporate image consultant who runs a Men’s Lifestyle channel on YouTube. His live streams about high-value men/women have been the craze in the black manosphere lately. The audience he draws in a lot is from black men and women but other races/ethnicities do watch and call into his show which is always interesting. Since he’s on YouTube and is public and on other social media platforms I don’t think I have to be discreet about his identity since he is a public figure on YouTube and Instagram. I’ll be leaving a link to his YouTube channel at the bottom of this post. Without further ado, below I’ll be presenting the 6 keys that constitute being a High-Value Man by Kevin Samuels.
Part 1: Mr. Samuels 6 Keys to being a High-Value Man
Money – Being a viewer of his content he has repeatedly said on his live streams that “you can’t be high value and homeless. In addition, that would also apply to being broke. So when it comes to high value, Mr. Samuels preaches that having a set annual salary adjusted for where you live will cover that first step to being a high-value man.
Length of time – High-value men must have a performance length of time which is usually 3 -5 years in their profession.
Group Acceptance – Fellow high-value men need to accept you in their social and professional circles.
Network – Once a man enters in High-Value status he will network and spend time with fellow high value men. This isn’t to say that they will disregard the people who they grew up with who are average joe’s or disrespect them for the life they’re living.
Visibility – Having a solidified and professional digital footprint online with a respectable position and income should all be LinkedIn level. This coincides with the Networking from Key # 4.
Utility – High-value men are useful to the group of high value men they’re in and others they can bestow their expertise too.
I remember watching Mr.Samuels broadcast once and had a man who called in that was a teacher and from the man’s perspective he believed he was a high-value man, but Mr. Samuels had differing opinions on it. Mr. Samuels believes the profession is without a doubt valuable but doesn’t have everything it pertains to being a high-value man. To be quite frank, I believe professors in the collegiate level teachers I’ve met and below college level have all 6 keys to being a high value man. However, the 1st key (Money) is circumstantial and depends on that individual’s background.
Part 2: The General Consensus on High-Value Men
Emotional Intelligence :
Self – awareness: one’s own emotions, drives, personality, passions
Self – management: deferring pleasure, taking a power stance, grit
Social awareness: other people’s emotions and social dynamics
Relationship management: building and managing positive relations
Self Awareness + Self – Management: There is a difference between self – awareness, and self-management. When a man has self – awareness he doesn’t go around asking “what’s my passion” his entire life. And with self – management, they work to get there. This distance themselves from low – quality men who meander through life chasing to get high off drugs and booze without regard for tomorrow. With a persistent mindset, High-Value Men stop at nothing to reach their goals while still taking in the pleasures of life.
Social Awareness + Relationship: This is equivalent to self – awareness only outward when in social situations. Having strong soft skills will allow high value men to understand social dynamics around them especially when they’re looking for a romantic partner. They’ll need to establish who’s in charge, remain consistent with pursuing reflective partners who are cooperative and supportive. Relationship management will leverage social awareness to build a meaningful network and value – adding relationships
He Has a Purpose: When a man knows what he wants it takes a minimum amount of drive to develop a purpose. A purpose in the words of Simon Sinek means a man’s WHY. When a man knows his WHY he will have the confidence and determination to get what he desires. For example, look at James Bond as a charismatic and attractive man to women because he always seems to have a bigger pursuit to take on. He’s a thrill – seeking man who has foes to take down and with which makes him an unavailable man. In other words, people want what’s scarce to them.
He takes care of himself – It takes 7 seconds to make a good impression and people make over 11 assumptions about you once meeting you, so the appearance in terms of attire and physique is imperative to being a High-Value Man. Eating well, Exercising, and always learning and investing in oneself is essential to maintain successful outcomes.
He has high self – esteem – Self – esteem is not confidence, it’s different. Confidence ebbs and flows depending on the skills in a given field. But self – esteem stays. Self- esteems take into account the losses and weakness, while confidence is derived from strengths and weaknesses.
He’s not afraid of commitment – Whether it is a job/career, relationships, a project, or simply himself, a high-value man knows when to buckle down and stay focused to get the best outcomes of everything he sets his mind towards. By showing commitment he shows attention and respect instead of jumping from one thing to another.
He understands that women of value can choose – A woman should be an addition to a high-value man’s life, not the center of it. Hypergamy is real and women want to be with a man she sees compatible with and can lead her to better herself and himself simultaneously.
He takes responsibility – A high-value man needs to take responsibility no matter the outcome. To put it in a better context, there needs to be control in a high values man life in other words, Internal locus of control, and external locus of control. Internal locus of control means that you believe you are in control of your life. And External locus of control means you believe life events determine the course of your life and you don’t have control over them. Taking responsibility starts with your own life than outwardly by helping people improve just as you have (external) will bring success to a high-value man’s life.
He has his value system – High-value man indiscriminately accepts value from others. There is no shortage of people telling men how to behave these days:

To conclude this post I want to state again that this blog post is mainly informative but it was sprinkled with my opinions. You can do with this information what you will. If you’ve made this far in the post, thank you, you’re a real one for taking the time for me to bestow this knowledge to you, and if you’re a man reading this extra kudos because this is something you’ll need to know. Personally, I feel like I possess some of the attributes to potentially one day become a high – value man in terms of the second part which was the general consensus on what a high – value man is. Anyways, leave a like and comment if you’d like to chime. Also give my page a follow so you stay up to date with future posts. As always peace and keep it real.
Podcasts have quickly gained popularity in the last few years and this type of platform for content is listened to daily. One of the big reasons for this has been the accessibility of mobile devices because consumers are shifting from constantly being on desktops to now always being on their mobile devices.
This allows podcasts to become prevalent since there is a constant promotion to consumers’ favorite websites and applications that have marketing influencers explaining a new podcast they have listened to or are going to be a part of which will cause their followers to tune in.
As people are more reliant on mobile devices it has become easier to access, download, listen and share their favorite podcasts whenever and wherever. Furthermore, listeners can even create their podcasts with the right high-quality equipment and upload it on a hosting site and apps for consumer consumption.
How Podcast has changed the marketing landscape
The primary focus when it comes to marketing is content. The famous verbiage “Content is king” is used around the marketing field and even though the phrase is cliche it holds a lot of truth. To clarify, in order to produce quality content with high demand businesses need a marketing strategy and resources to deliver messages and the traditional method for these are blogs.
However, podcasts are changing this due to the personalities behind them that listeners find trust in and consistency from and this will cause them to become repeat listeners. Moreover, businesses can use podcasts as platforms for relevant high-quality content to be released and this eliminates the multiple-step efforts it takes to formulate a blog piece due to it being all writing.
Podcasts inspire conversations between listeners and even the podcast creators. This will create a community for suggestions on topics to discuss if it’s a podcast with guests who to have on there and podcast creators can even engage the listeners’ interest by encouraging them to call in.
Adding a customer relationship management competent to podcasting will only benefit it to thrive. On the other hand, blogs are effective as this medium of communication is thought-provoking whereby visitors can comment on posts and have conversations in discussion boards and such.
Both mediums are effective but the most interactive of the two would go more towards podcasting.
How to use a marketing strategy for podcasts
Investing in quality equipment: With everyday advancements and improvements in technology obtaining quality, the equipment has become more affordable for new podcast content creators and should be utilized for optimal results. This investment would allow for high-quality audio, reliability and efficient episodes for consistent downloads listens and sharing on social media.
Consistently create relevant and informative content: Consumers are more likely to engage with content that is worthwhile such as podcasts that provides episodes that are educational and entertaining, but when all said and done everything created needs to pertain to the business and brand image.
Host podcasts on a relevant platform: Podcasts need a home for consumers to find and download, but podcast content creators need to find a host platform that right for their industry and niche. It doesn’t matter if you have the hottest business podcast or whatever the case may be if your audience can’t listen on a different platform or worse can’t find the podcast.
A traditional way of streaming becomes a new generation business trend after years of its era.
Podcasting has made a prominent effect on listeners since its creation and its ways of expanding to cater to different fields as business, entertainment, true crime, sports and more have shown it has more to accomplish.
Ever since entering the world of business podcasts have became a popular marketing strategy and will be for the foreseeable future. When the steps to create a podcast and commitment are executed well then the podcasting experience will be fun as the content can be broadcasted to the intended target expeditiously.
Is starting a podcast right now the best move for companies to evolve a target audience?
The answer to that is year. If you’re a business or market influencer building your brand is the goal even if the brand is well established. Podcasts can expand the business/brands reach to consumers who want to get their entertainment and education through mediums other than TV or the internet.

A personal brand according to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is “what people say about you when you’re not in the room”.
Also, there is a time where you’ll be evaluated as a person separately from your business, that’s why your personal brand will be what will stick with you in the long run. So let’s get a better understanding on how you can build a strong personal image with a quick personal branding 101.
Whenever we think of big-name brands like Microsoft, Apple, Amazon and so forth we don’t only think about the company’s reputation but the people behind it such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Jeff Bezos who created and managed prosperous products/services worldwide.
You should know by now that what you are trying to achieve with personal branding is what companies like Nike, Amazon, Red-bull achieved after years of exposure to brand messages over people. Almost everyone can relate Red bull to extreme sports and Nike with its slogan “Just Do It”.
These things act like the voice of the company. It shows how exciting, aggressive, positive or fearless a brand is. For small companies like startups, now it is the most important aspect of marketing. Let us go a little further than this by saying that it will mean everything in the near future.
So what you should do about this as an entrepreneur and as an individual in the business world if you don’t own a big organization with big resources?
If you can’t build the infrastructure offline with PR campaigns, public appearance, ruling online networks with your brand is the perfect strategy especially after 2020. There hasn’t been any better timing for digital branding.
Especially for individuals, the rise of social media made easier to shift the attention of the public constantly on different topics. Let’s start step by step on how you can start building your personal brand.
Assess what you already have: If you’re a novice entrepreneur you’ll have to begin by evaluating what you already have. Any skill, knowledge, mentor ship to offer to your people will be your most valuable asset.
How you will deliver it: How you deliver your message will determine the size of your audience. Think of newspapers with different framing for the same news, some people will not wanna listen your voice, but rather listen to the same information from someone who makes them feel comfortable.
Build a consistent public reputation: Both in real life and in social media, there is a common notion that people have to be careful about and that is being consistent with your messaging. Your brand has to represent your values and who you are. If you are pivoting too much and lose your direction along the way, why would same people listen to you?
Never Underestimate Promotion and PR: If you don’t have an amazing content, no promotion nor ad can bring you the attention you seek. However, if you believe you are ready with first 3 steps, now investing in your image with right PR strategy, reaching out people in your circle to promote you, and pouring some amount of investment into online promotions may bring you great exposure.
Make a business plan: Let’s be honest this might even be the first step after deciding on your value proposition. Treat your personal brand as a company asset and map out a plan that can take a few months with objectives, goals, and strategies on how to get achieve them and how much time you’ll invest in getting this all done. Accountability is vital to sticking to a plan so keeping track and reviewing of all your work will only further build your brand and its reputation. Building a personal brand pays increases with rewards throughout your career. The more time and effort invested in becoming an expert, the better opportunities you’ll get.
Be aware that this process takes time: If you’re willing to give up after couple of failures during the process, you shouldn’t start investing time in this. Because building a personal brand online is a much bigger process than going viral in social media or selling stuff via ads. It will take much longer for people to embrace your message and associate you with your unique messaging. It’s a process with financial and mental investments.
Building a personal brand takes time and effort and a lot of trial and error under getting the desired results, but at the end of the day you owe it to your own business to build a unique audience and expand beyond with your own messaging and vision. I meant to write this post over a month ago. After going through my notebook I came across some notes I took from a webinar in late January about Health and Wellness hosted by Wellness Coach Kristin Rayl. I’ll leave her social media links at the bottom of this post. Having said that, I’m want to say that I don’t have expert knowledge in this field of study nor have coached anyone through emotional or physical trauma, but I will say that after learning about Mindfulness and Wellness I can now incorporate some of the teachings into my life and you can too.
Mindfulness: To bring oneself bring back to the present moment without judgment from others. By expressing mindfulness one will become more aware of their surroundings and self within any given moment. What happened in the past and what’s going to happen in the future doesn’t matter, what matters is The Now aka the present moment.
The Three Pillars of Wellness
If you neglect one of these pillars that’s when you’ll start to notice things will go awry in your life and the side effect to that is imbalances and that be difficult to manage when you realize that everything is out of order. These imbalances can lead to symptoms such as tension and sickness (The Body), sadness and emptiness inside (The Spirit) and stress and anxiety (The Mind). Creating and maintaining a balance with self care will cause all three of these pillars to become aligned. These three pillars will not align all at once, but with time they will connect and you’ll feel a sense of rejuvenation and accomplishment.
Equally important, creating a routine will help keep things aligned and will boost productivity since you’ll have that as a commitment to fulfill consistently. For instance, I’ve been writing things on sticky notes I need to get done in the future and leave them on my bedroom door and dresser. By having this kind of structure this will keep myself organized and with repetition, my mind and spirit will feel satisfaction due to the accountability. Furthermore, you won’t hit everything on your routine because there might be obstacles or circumstances that will shift your attention away from it, but remember to revert your complete attention to it once you make your return. In terms of activating your awareness and consciousness within The Body one way to create sensations throughout The Body is breath work (controlled breathing) and eye gazing which is staring at yourself in the mirror and praising yourself with encouraging words. I know this may sound peculiar but it doesn’t hurt to try it right?
In closing, there are many ways to improve wellness and health from meditation, creating a routine, eye gazing, controlled breathing and more. With a dedication to practicing mindfulness and meditation, one can improve and alleviate medical and psychological conditions. With mindfulness there is an increase in connectivity in the brain that has to do with attention, visual and auditory processing. With consistency the density of the brain will cause increases in areas that control memory, attentiveness, and empathy while decreasing in areas that control anxiety and nervous tension. This kind of alteration can trigger a “relaxation response” that can turn sets of genes on and off. Those genes regulate how the body reacts to stress, inflammation, and even cell death.
