His hands are not his own.
A docile puppet controlled by a stranger’s venomous voice
He traverses and carves through London’s suffocating fog,
A phantom feasting on lascivious intentions
His instructions are given in a whisper
A steady hum builds to an unstoppable roar
His thoughts are serrated by evil
And sharpened with vigilance, relentlessly slicing disdain into his victims
He follows a hypnotic melody, a song without a tune, and a cold command echoes in the gaslit London streets
His inner voice screams and fights the urge to continue, but his body is subject to obey
A cage of muscle and bone that no longer belongs to him
Even in the silence
His gruesome artistry yells out clues
But it’s too futile to solve
He wakes with relief and thrives in the punishment he inflicts
On the ones who revel in iniquity
His true self is host to a stranger’s killing instruments
He has recollections that aren’t his
It keeps reminding him that these deadly hands are not his
Trust and rapport established
But it’s a facade for him to deliver damage
His hands are not his own
Blades covered in plasma have victims kiss the filthy streets
There is nobody to trust
So, lament if you must
But he remains an infamous architect of final silence

“From Hell” (2001). This is a decent and haunting film directed by the Hughes Brothers that tells the story of British Inspector Frederick Abberline’s (Johnny Depp) investigation and hunt for the serial killer “Jack the Ripper”.
