move on with your dislikes

  • Welcome readers to another one of my blog entries, if you like what you’ve read, hit the like button, and comment if you want to chime in with anything that can create a conversation in the comment section. Also, you can support me by following my blog site. This way you’ll be notified when my next blog is published. I am because we are; that’s Ubuntu. As always, peace and keep it real.

A mindset of moving on when we see something we don’t like should be normalized. There are too many miserable individuals on social media platforms who would rather expel negativity toward content creators in hopes of getting a defensive reaction that is negative than move on with their day. Furthermore, these negative remarks become insidious and persist as content creators gain more exposure. From what I’ve seen, individuals who leave negative comments rarely provide any constructive remarks for that content creator to use so they can improve the content that caused the initial discontent.

Fortunately, I haven’t received any negative comments regarding my content yet. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone in the future reads my writing or listens to my podcast and hates it. This morning, I contemplated things that a troll might say about my content like,  “You can’t write and all the stuff you write about is boring” or in terms of my podcast, “ I hate your voice and you don’t know what you’re talking about”.

As previously mentioned, that malcontent “troll” who harbors a lot of disdain for you will expect you to start a diatribe of insults or whatever but once you notice their insolence, proceed by refusing to engage with the bait they believe they set for you. I don’t want to subject myself to expelling contaminated energy into another spirit because ultimately, at that point we’re both victims of negativity and therefore have lost. All in all, something that I won’t mind doing is rectifying any erroneous claims about my content, but what I won’t tolerate is ad hominem attacks that have nothing to do with my content.

  1. The only time I comment negatively is if something is inherently dangerous. For example, I saw a video on YouTube promoting chokechain style necklaces as fun and sexy for couples. I commented and said it’s stupid and dangerous and a potential court case for injury or worse, because it is. I think there’s a difference between being a Negative Nonce generally and helping keep people safe from dangerous “trends”.
