While city lights begin to dim,
And slumber claims the avenue
A different disposition is developed
In rooms where quiet dreams are difficult to come by
The world assumes a gentle peace
Meanwhile, a hush descends, this avenue is at wake
Even in the stillness
The Nocturnals’ souls are invigorated with vitality
Creating an ambiance of gentle hums before the music plays
In realms of thought, they find their solace
And challenge common practices
Avoiding the greed
Defying notions of social needs
They compensate what is bereft by other means
The serenity of the night
Is a sanctuary, pure and bright
It transforms into a canvas where their souls have limitless expressions
Believe it or not
These solitary spirits are content
Let the world assume they’re asleep
As they search and discover new things about themselves
Aspiring to reach a connection through self-reflection
That is deep and true
These introverts embrace their nocturnal vigil
And find strength in solitude

Great closing lines! I’m pretty introverted and love night for the fact that I finally get time alone and silence.

Same, it can be fulfilling if you know how to make the most of it. Thanks for the comment and I’m glad you liked it.

I love your poetry, and I love the premise of someone appreciating solace. Too often we forget to take time to be alone with our thoughts. I live in the Ozark Mtns. and cherish nights listening to the sounds of nature from the crickets chirping to the coyotes wild yapping during mating season.
