- Etymology is a beautiful thing. Words have history and vitality. I know that the word “slop” doesn’t pertain to A.I. specifically, but I agree that slop is definitely a word to describe the current conditions of A.I.
AI slop has become ubiquitous, and it’s only going to get worse. In the past few years, AI has developed into something insidious and pervasive. Slop, that’s what AI should be seen as, because it rarely provides any beneficial content. It has merely inundated the gullible in ways that cause them to fail when it comes to distinguishing what is real from what is fake. Moreover, AI slop delivers low-quality content, and it attracts viewers with exaggerated content that feeds algorithms with brain rot. On the other hand, there are positive aspects of AI that can be utilized; however, the overwhelming stigma surrounding the potential psychological damage it can cause to minds has tarnished its reputation as a tool for innovative expansion. In closing, AI slop has found its place on the internet as a powerful force that could become, dare I say, weaponized in the coming years.
